Eagle Broadcasting Corporation and Globe Telecommunications signed an agreement on Saturday, January 26, 2019, on the promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises to help spur the growth of these SMEs which are vital in the country’s economy.
The promotion is through EBC’s online business program, “Open For Business” hosted and produced by Caesar Vallejos of Posting Life Communications.
Signing for EBC are its president Rowena Dela Fuente-Deimoy, Chief Operating Officer James Manzanero, Online Media Services manager Donna Cueto-Ybanez.
Globe My Business Marketing OIC Celeste Porto, Globe Telecommunications Senior Advisor for Small and Medium Business Group Derrick Heng, and Globe MyBusiness Marketing Director Anne David signed the agreement with EBC for Globe.
EBC President Dela Fuente-Deimoy said the signing of the agreement between EBC and Globe signified both institutions’ concern about small and medium enterprises or SMEs.
“Today is a very important day for Eagle Broadcasting corporation and Globe myBusiness as we formally seal the partnership between our institutions,” she said.
-Platform for entrepreneurs-
Deimoy said that the support of Globe myBusiness was not just a simple sponsorship, but a “platform for entrepreneurs learn more and be informed on relevant information necessary for their smart business decision.”
“With this partnership, we are also creating our success because EBC believes that we can only move forward with collaboration with key partners like Globe,” she said.
“We are confident that this will not be the first and last, but just a beginning of a brighter future together,” she added.

The signing of the deal was held on Saturday, January 26 at one of EBC’s studios in the network’s main office in Quezon City, Philippines.
Globe myBusiness marketing OIC, Porto, noted the common interest of both EBC and Globe in helping MSMEs which contribute a large part to the economy.
She cited the latest statistics from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) on MSMEs.
The 2017 List of Establishments of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) recorded a total of 924,721 business enterprises operating in the Philippines, and how micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) account for 99.56% (920,677) of the total establishments.
Of this number, 89.59% (828,436) were microenterprises, 9.56% (88,412) were small enterprises, and 0.41% (3,829) were medium enterprises. Large enterprises made up the remaining 0.44% (4,044).
“We know how they (MSMEs) drive the growth of our country,” Porto said. “It’s so nice of you that you are also committed to helping them.”
