Eagle Broadcasting Corporation (EBC) launched its newest media platform, E25 Records, on Sunday, Nov. 18, during the EBC Fun Run concert at the Philippine Arena.
E25 Records is envisioned to promote positive values and themes through original musical compositions, according to E25 Records director Ernie Magtuto.
This will give opportunity to aspiring composers, songwriters, musicians and singers so their music can be heard, he said.
Magtuto said that E25 Records is not limited to local artists, but is also open to international musicians and composers as well.
Creative beats and innovative music in these modern interesting times is also encouraged as E25 Records hopes to break new ground in the international music scene.
Other submissions from EBC’s international bureaus are also part of the E25 Records which hopes to tap into the creative wellspring of various musical cultures around the world.
Among the E25 recording artists who performed during the concert were multi-awarded film director Carlo Ortega Cuevas, who happens to also be a musical composer, and actress-singer Joyselle Cabanlong. Both Cuevas and Cabanlong also belong to EBC Films family.
Another E25 artist who performed at the E25 Records launch was Pinas FM DJ and rapper, Rapido, who thanked EBC for creating the new media platform that will help other new artists like him.
Other newcomers who performed during the E25 Records launch are the “Habibi Boys” who are composed of former Overseas Filipino Workers.
EBC President Rowena Dela Fuente Deimoy said that E25 Records was established to help these new artists whose music promotes positive themes.
“Ang E25 Records ay binuo ng Eagle Broadcasting Corporation hindi lang para palawakin ang EBC kundi para makatulong sa mga bagong musikero, mga kompositor, dahil sa naniniwala po ang EBC sa kakayahan ng mga Filipino artists (E25 Records was set up by Eagle Broadcasting Corporation not just as part of the growth of EBC, but more importantly to help new musicians, composers because EBC believes in the talent of the Filipino artists),” Deimoy said.
“Ang vision natin sa pagbuo ng E25 Records ay para magkaroon ng avenue ang mga bagong umuusbong na mga mang-aawit, mga kompositor, mga arranger, para ipakita rin ang kanilang talento (Our vision in forming E25 Records is to have an avenue for rising musicians — singers, composers, arrangers – so they can show their talent),” she said.
Deimoy cited the reality in the music scene where budding artists find it hard to enter and break ground if they don’t have the connections in the music industry.
She said that it is these musicians whose compositions promote values and positive outlook which EBC, through its newest media platform, E25 Records, would like to help.
-Influencing the youth through positive music-
E25 Records director Magtuto describes the kind of music that will be promoted by E25 Records.
“Ang musikang itataguyod ng E25 Records ay musikang may taglay na positive values, musikang nagtataguyod na positibong pananaw, o yung may nilalaman na positibong kaugalian. Yan ang mga musikang itataguyod ng E25 records,” he said.
E25 records also hopes to influence today’s youth to have a positive attitude in life.
Magtuto explained that through E25 Records, different kinds of music will be created which would also serve various platforms such as music for television, radio, online materials, and even for film.
He also invited aspiring artists and composers who want to promote their positive music to submit their demo materials to EBC’s E25 Records.
